Taylor Swift Talks Song ‘Ownership’ Amid Ongoing Battle With Scooter Braun In New Issue Of British ‘Vogue’

Taylor Swift opened up about all things songwriting, music, acting, and more during a conversation with Cats creator Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber for her British Vogue January cover story.

As Swifties will recall, the two recently collaborated on a new tune, Beautiful Ghosts, for the forthcoming film which will be sung by Tay during the end credits.

But first, ch-ch-check out her cover look (below):

The Broadway legend recalled hearing Swift’s recently released seventh studio album Lover for the first time:

“Am I right in thinking you approached its recording just as though you were giving live performances?”

She affirmed (below):

“I did. I was really singing a lot at that point – I’d just come from a stadium tour, and then did Cats, which was all based on live performances – so a lot of that album is nearly whole takes. When you perform live, you’re narrating and you’re getting into the story and you’re making faces that are ugly and you’re putting a different meaning on a song every time you perform it.”

Seemingly alluding to her ongoing issues with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta, the songstress elaborated on the importance of maintaining ownership over her song lyrics, many of which she has written:

“I think [writing] is really important – also from the side of ownership over what you do and make. Even if you aren’t a natural writer, you should try to involve yourself in the messages you’re sending.”

The 71-year-old agreed:

“Today, very few people have a major career unless they write.”

Prior to being cast as Bombalurina in the flick, Miz Swift also revealed she was unclear about her own acting aspirations:

“When I was younger, I used to get questions like, ‘Where do you see yourself in 10 years?’ I’d try to answer. As I get older, I’m learning that wisdom is learning how dumb you are compared to how much you are going to know.”

The cat lover continued, discussing the buzzy movie:

“I really had an amazing time with Cats. I think I loved the weirdness of it. I loved how I felt I’d never get another opportunity to be like this in my life.”

It seems as if the You Need To Calm Down singer got along fairly well with the cast, which includes Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, and Ian McKellen, among other stars:

“There is one scene that Idris [Elba, who plays Macavity] and I do with Judi [Dench, Old Deuteronomy], and someone walked up to me with this kind of gummy candy and I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve never had this before, this must be British candy, this is amazing.’ I was raving about this candy so much, and Judi must have overheard me, because the next day I got to my dressing room and there was a signed photo from Judi and, like, six bags of it.”

Amanda Bynes Is Currently Living With Her Parents And Reportedly ‘Open To Getting Help’

Well, there appears to be some good news regarding Amanda Bynes‘ current well-being and living situation.

Late Thursday night, we reported on Bynes’ sudden departure from the sober facility where she’d previously been living. At the time, sources reported the former All That star’s whereabouts were unknown to even her own parents, who were concerned about the potential for a relapse.

Fortunately, now we know at least one important thing has cleared up: her parents do know where the embattled former child star is! She’s reportedly living with them right now while she looks for her own permanent place to call home, according to ET. What a relief!

According to exclusive reporting by the outlet, Bynes checked out of her sober living facility last week, and has been living in Ventura County with her parents ever since. In fact, news broke out as it did on Thursday because Bynes and her family were in a Ventura County courtroom that afternoon along with their conservatorship attorney, confirming with a judge whether it was legally acceptable for the former fashion student to be on her own again.

Earlier this year, Amanda actually checked herself into a clinic to receive better mental health treatment. / (c) Amanda Bynes/Instagram

Apparently a discussion in court on Thursday about Bynes’ potential new living arrangements was substantive, while a source confirmed she’s still close with her parents throughout this whole ordeal. The insider noted (below):

“She has a great relationship with them. She’s always in touch with them.”

Good! So it sounds like things may be progressing along nicely in some ways.

Still, addiction is a very, very tough disease, and we hope Bynes and her family continue to stay vigilant.

But What About School?!

Multiple outlets have confirmed Bynes did in fact drop out of her bachelor’s degree program at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise (FIDM). The 33-year-old had earned her associate’s degree from the school in June, but according to a source who spoke to E! News on Thursday night, the secondary program wasn’t working for her (below):

“She dropped out of the FIDM bachelor degree program she enrolled in… [and] is not working. She has access to her money so she’s financially independent. [And she is] not doing drugs again, though that is always the concern.”

Having money with no responsibilities is something of a concern, to say the least, but we’re optimistic…

And the same source confirms the former TV starlet has all but moved on from the sober living facility for good, too, adding more about Bynes’ current mental and living situations:

“She may not go back [to the facility], but again, she’s not doing drugs and mentally and physically she’s okay. She does not have to go back but it’s unclear what’s going to happen. She is open to getting help. In court her parents were reassured that she’s doing well and okay and that everything is back on track.”

Again, she’s not out of the woods yet, but things sound… OK? Certainly better than what we first heard last night!

What do U think about this ongoing situation, Perezcious readers? On the whole, Amanda appears to be doing better now than she has in the recent past, but as the last 24 hours goes to show, things can go from good to bad very quickly when addiction is involved.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family as they continue to navigate this difficult road. We wish the best for everybody involved!

As an eternally-stylish celebrity, Sienna Miller is one of the women we turn to for regular outfit inspiration. Whether in casual attire or at a formal event, the actress has the unique ability to make any outfit look polished and considered.

Last night, Miller attended the screening of American Woman in New York and as to be expected she arrived looking as chic as ever. Dressed in head-to-toe Gucci, Miller opted for a crystal-embellished mini dress featuring the brand’s interlocking GG print. She paired the dress with silver sandals and finished the look with a set of tights in the same GG pattern.

Milan heralds longer, more balanced Fashion Week Men

Milan Fashion Week Men is regaining lost ground. It has been shrinking for several seasons, penalised by the loss of a number of labels that moved to other destinations or adopted new presentation formats, and in the last few months its organisers have multiplied their efforts to convince various labels to re-join the calendar. Gucci, which has been showing its menswear at the Fashion Week Women, as well as N°21 and Salvatore Ferragamo, responded favourably to their entreaties.

Carlo Capasa, president of the Italian Fashion Chamber  (CNMI), underlined this success as he presented the programme for the week, which will run from January 10 to 14: “Many labels are again presenting their menswear by staging dedicated shows and abandoning the mixed-gender format, because menswear is a booming segment,” said Capasa.

Besides the three labels mentioned above, the come-back list includes Iceberg, back in Milan after three seasons in London, Miaoran, absent from the catwalks last season, Prada, after its Shanghai show, and MSGM, which chose to celebrate its 10th anniversary at Pitti Uomo.

The Milanese event can also be glad for the addition of an extra half day of shows to the programme. In previous seasons, it used to end on a Monday evening, but it will instead finish on Tuesday January 14 at noon. And it will do so with a bang, as Gucci isn’t only coming back, but will slot in on the event’s final day, which will also feature the debut show of the new menswear line by Marco De Vincenzo.

Also, thanks to an agreement with the British Fashion Council, Milan will be welcoming London’s rising menswear star, Samuel Ross, showing with his label A-Cold-Wall on Monday 13. Another new name on the calendar will be Han Kjøbenhavn, the Danish streetwear label that has tried to make a breakthrough in Paris by showing off-calendar in the last two seasons. Han Kjøbenhavn was founded in Copenhagen in 2008 by Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen, first as an eyewear brand, and later also introducing an apparel line with a typically Scandinavian design.

Among the other fashion week rookies, CNMI also announced Italian designer Fabio Quaranta, who showed in 2013 at the White show in Milan. Quaranta is well-known for his understated, comfortable style featuring quality fabrics and tailored details. Another newcomer to the Milanese catwalks is high-end streetwear label Reshake, owned by Chinese apparel giant Mark Fairwhale. The label was founded in Shanghai in 2013 and already operates over 130 stores in China. Last February, it showed in London as part of emerging designer platform On|Off Presents.
Next January, Milan will also feature several prestigious names on its presentation calendar, like Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, and it will host a series of major events, like the 25th anniversary of DSquared2 and parties by Michael Kors, Brunello Cucinelli and GQ.

Nevertheless, the Milan Fashion Week will once again be faced with a real talent drain, as no fewer than 11 labels have withdrawn. The calendar published on Tuesday does not include, among others, Versace, which will show its menswear during the women’s Fashion Week, and Pal Zileri, whose creative director Rocco Iannone left for Ferrari.
