Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Axe More U.K. Staff Members!

Per multiple sources, 15 high-level staff members who were employed by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at Buckingham Palace have been let go from their positions.

While some will be reabsorbed into other roles in the royal household, some will face total severance. According to the outlet, the Palace said it did not comment on staffing matters but it is understood that senior royals are aware of the current situation.

An insider shared:

“Given their decision to step back, an office at Buckingham Palace is no longer needed. While the details are still being finalized and efforts are being made to redeploy people within the royal household, unfortunately there will be some redundancies.”

Among those to lose their jobs are the couple’s private secretary, communications chief, press officer, and more. The insider added:

“The Duke and Duchess have a small team, less than 15 people. The team are very loyal to the Sussexes and understand and respect the decision they have taken. They are all close and supporting each other. The team are busy helping to set their Royal Highnesses up for the future and working on a series of final engagements.”

Their latest move — in addition to a previous round of staff shuffles — comes just over a month after the announcement of their intention to step back as senior members of the royal family. Though the pair has stated they plan to split their time between the U.K. and North America, this has many convinced they will be spending less and less time across the pond.

A confidant shared with the outlet:

“I do think they will be back a little bit. They genuinely do plan to keep their patronages and maintain that work in the UK.”

Another royal source told the publication:

“I don’t think it will come as surprise to anyone that these have been incredibly trying circumstances for their team, who have experienced some very difficult times of late. They are all good people, very loyal and brilliant at their jobs, and everyone feels incredibly sorry for them.”

Apparently, there’s been some confusion over the past month, which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have largely spent in Canada, about private engagements and briefings. A newly formed North America-based team has been hard at work on a brand new website, sans involvement from royal advisers. The insider explained:

“There are several instances when advice was clearly been given to them by the Palace team and wasn’t listened to. They have done the best they possibly could against a backdrop of multiple international advisers, publicists and high-profile friends.”

Oops! The confidant continued:

“Harry and Meghan’s team are so loyal, probably to a fault sometimes. They are firefighting for the couple while knowing they are about to lose their jobs. Efforts are being made to redeploy some people. But in truth that will be a small fraction of the total staff.”

While it’s obviously not ideal that any staff members had to lose their jobs because of this, we hope the Sussexes at least looked into the wonders of remote work…

What Our Editors Think About Wearing Tights Under Jeans

An intense debate was sparked in the Who What Wear UK offices after Alexa Chung published an Instagram Story about wearing tights under jeans. Half of the office thought it was a given that you would chuck on the denier 40s as soon as the mercury dropped below 10º Celsius, while the other half hated the idea of adding unnecessary bulk to their already overladen winter outfits.

This division was further confirmed after we posed the question to our Facebook group. Some stated their reliance on tights for the colder months, while others dismissed the layering approach as “uncomfortable.” The issue has become even more pressing over the last few days, as temperatures have plummeted to arctic lows and the commute to work has become a battle against the tundra.

We decided to pitch two editors against each other to conclude, once and for all, whether wearing tights under jeans is a fashion faux pas. So who was right? Message us and tell us your thoughts!

‘When a kid is born, they don’t come out with a pamphlet’

Dwyane Wade is reflecting on being a father to an 18-year-old son and why parenthood can be so scary.

Now 38 and the proud dad of 18-year-old son Zaire, Wade told People before the Sunday premiere of his ESPN documentary “D. Wade: Life Unexpected,” that he tried his best to raise good children.

“Now he’s 18 and I’m like, ‘He’s about to go to college’ — I’m even more scared,” the retired NBA legend who is married to actress Gabrielle Union, told the outlet. “When a kid is born, they don’t come out with a pamphlet that’s like, ‘Okay, these are the directions for this kid.’ So you just figure it out and try to help raise someone who’s good and kind, and just characteristics that you want your kids to hopefully have. And that’s in you already.”

Wade added, “You’re afraid because you don’t want to mess up; you don’t want anything to happen to them. But I think, ultimately, we all have it inside of us to help lead someone, whether that’s your kids, godson or goddaughter, niece or nephew, coworker — we all have it in us to lead. It’s no different when you have a kid.”

Now a rising basketball star himself, Zaire hopes to play in the NBA one day, like his father. And Wade says the teen isn’t embarrassed by his famous dad — well, not entirely. “There’s moments where I embarrass him sometimes on purpose,” he told People, “and sometimes just because I’m older and I’m not as cool as I used to be.”

Wade is also father to Kaavia, 15 months, Xavier, 6, and 12-year-old Zaya, who changed pronouns to “she” and “her” after being born as Zion. Wade also serves as guardian of nephew Dahveon, 18.

Recently, during an appearance on Ellen, the athlete shared how he and Union respected Zaya’s decisions. “First of all, me and my wife Gabrielle Union, we are proud — when I say proud, we are proud parents — of a child in the LGBTQ+ community,” Dwyane told Ellen DeGeneres. “And we’re proud allies as well. And we take our roles and our responsibility as parents very seriously.”

Also in February, the athlete also posted an Instagram video in which he praised Zaya for being a “leader.”

Wade recently told Good Morning America that he hesitated to discuss Zaya’s choices in his new project. “I struggled on how much I wanted to talk about it in the doc,” he said. “I actually didn’t talk about it a lot, but I knew if I put it in the doc at all it would be a big conversation. Yes, we understand that our daughter’s 12 years old. We struggled with what people would say about a 12-year-old making a decision about her life, but we also know our child.”

Hilary Duff Confronts ‘Creep’ Photographer Taking Photos Of Her Kids In Public Park

Hilary Duff isn’t about to let some strange, random man get away with photographing kids at a soccer game!

On Saturday afternoon, the former Lizzie McGuire star posted a video on her Instagram page showing her confronting a male photographer who was shooting pictures of children playing football in a park. The man, who did not even immediately identify himself as a paparazzi photographer, apparently did not know any of the children, bringing the creep factor up significantly…

The whole exchange was an interesting — and contentious — one from the very beginning. At one point, the Younger star saw the male photographer shooting pics of children in the park, and assumed him to be a paparazzi photog, as so many often are who follow her around.

But the man never identified himself by name, nor did he tell Duff what organization he was there shooting with or for, interestingly enough. When the actress confirms the man doesn’t know anybody on the team, and appears to be taking pictures without the children’s consent, she really loses it on him, saying at one point in the video (below):

“Who are you here with? Do you know any people on the team? Can you stop taking pictures of the kids please? It’s making me feel really uncomfortable. I’m not asking for your ID. I’m asking you to stop taking pictures of our 7-year-old children if you don’t know anyone that’s here. “I’m asking you human to human, as a mother, if you don’t know anyone here, can you please stop taking pictures of our children playing football this morning … These are 7-year-old children and you don’t have a child here. They’re our children and we would like to protect them.”

Yikes!!!! Talk about letting him have it!!

You can watch the whole entire thing go down on video (below):

Damn! Go IN on that man, Hilary! She’s completely at her wit’s end with photographers and paparazzi members following her around for so long, and for good reason. And it appears now, he’s ready to go to battle for her own children, too!
